Rowdy Roy Escobar, age 24, of Coleman, passed from this life suddenly from a tragic accident on Sunday, July 19, 2020. The family will host a visitation 6:00p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 23, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Rough Creek Cemetery in Novice. Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
Rowdy was born November 10, 1995 in Abilene. He grew up in Coleman and graduated from Panther Creek High School. He excelled in football and track and field. It was his participation in throwing the discus and shot put that earned him district champion and lead him to participate at the state level. Rowdy never met a stranger. He was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. His contagious smile and kind heart was always felt when he was around. Rowdy always kept his family close to him. He loved his brothers and sisters and enjoyed giving them a “hard” time. Rowdy loved to be outdoors and participate in fishing trips in his spare time. He was a welder, fencer, and a fracker for TechnipFMC.
Those left to cherish precious memories are his parents, Sherman and Sandy McWhirter of Coleman; his girlfriend and mother of his daughter, Makenzie Guardiola of Abilene; his daughter, Talia Kehlani Escobar of Abilene; his siblings, Daniella Allcorn and husband Jeremy of Coleman, Measha Leal and husband Jacob of Dublin, Tye McWhirter and girlfriend Desiree Vela of Brownwood, Chris Ramos and wife Ana of Coleman, and Angelica Ramos of Abilene; his grandparents, James and Jimmie Posey of Coleman; and special friends who were like family, Colton Bledsoe of Odessa and James Shrader of San Angelo.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Steffey, Tye McWhirter, Colton Bledsoe, James Shrader, Jeremy Allcorn, and Jacob Leal.
