She was born Janet Elaine Scarbrough on July 23, 1943, in Santa Anna, Texas to Walter D. “Doc” Scarbrough and Hettie Williamson Scarbrough. Janet grew up in Santa Anna where she attended school. Janet was a bank teller at First National Bank in Coleman for over twenty years. Her kindness and friendly face were a staple when you walked in the bank doors. Janet always kept in touch with her family and friends, always giving words of encouragement and advice when needed. Janet also volunteered for the Coleman Meals on Wheels when needed. She was proud of her family and proud to call Coleman County her home.
