Pat Titsworth, 64, of Valera, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Coleman County Medical Center. She was born Patricia Louise Broumley on March 8, 1954 in Dallas to Ernest Broumley and Cathy Ann Gould Broumley. She grew up and attended school in Terrell. She moved to Valera in 1989. On March 10, 1992, she married Chris Titsworth in Reno, Nevada.
Pat was an over-the-road truck driver for 23 years, working for PTL, Ozark Van Lines, Prime, Inc., and Werner. She also worked for a short time as a nurse. She loved trucking, drag racing, fishing, visiting with people, gardening, was willing to help others and especially loved her dogs. Pat was a member of Valera Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Chris Titsworth of Valera; three children, Kevin Avants of Coleman, Jason Titsworth of Coleman, P. J. Stapleton of Van; one sister, Rose Broumley of Jacksonville; one brother, James Kevin Broumley of Dekalb and two grandchildren, Samantha Cheyenne Avants of Miami, Oklahoma and Shavelle Stapleton of Quinlan.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Dale Avants, Jr. on October 6, 1975; two brothers, Buddy Broumley, Ernest Broumley and one sister, Julie Jenson.
It was Pat’s wish to have her body cremated. Her family is honoring that wish. The family is planning a celebration of Pat’s life to be held later this summer.
