Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25 in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. She will be buried beside her husband in the Silver Valley Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan, Coleman, Texas.
Bonnie was born January 27, 1931 in Swedeburg, Missouri, a daughter of Lonnie Andy Griffin and Ruby Shelton Griffin. She grew up in Missouri and attended school at Crocker and Dixon. She married Russell Eugene Ames in Waynesville, Missouri and he preceded her in death in 1994. Bonnie and Russell moved to Coleman in 1959 where they owned Shirley's Upholstery and Northside Laundry for 46 years. She lived the last two years of her life in Lubbock.
She is survived by her four daughters, Judy Ximenez of San Antonio, Sharon Ames of Carrollton, Carolyn Behnke of Magnolia, and Shirley Perry of Lubbock; one brother, Lloyd Griffin and wife Dorothy of Georgia; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home.
